Escarpment Kupe Pinot Noir 2022
95 POINTS
Intense, elegant pinot noir with typical savoury character that defines it as Martinborough. Firmly-structured wine with a promising future and a depth of fruit that marks it as a thoroughbred.
Escarpment Kiwa Pinot Noir 2022
94 POINTS
Light, elegant wine with impressive underlying power and flavours that suggest dark cherry, wood smoke, savoury/dried herbs, subtle spices and anise supported by fine, drying tannins and gentle acidity.
Escarpment Pahi Pinot Noir 2022
95 POINTS
Richly-textured pinot noir with moderately intense dark berry/cherry fruit flavours and mouth-puckering tannins that suggest good cellaring potential. The wine opened up as it sat in the glass and deserves to be aerated before and during consumption.
Escarpment Te Rehua Pinot Noir 2022
96 POINTS
Intense, savoury, cedar, grape stems, hedgerow, black cherry, floral and spice flavours with very appealing silken tannins. High energy wine that should respond well to bottle age. Complex wine that is a pleasure to drink now.
Escarpment Martinborough Pinot Noir 2022
92 POINTS
A blend of grapes from several vineyards around the town of Martinborough. Accessible wine that can be appreciated now but shows some cellaring potential. Firmly-structured wine with cedar, vanilla, floral and red berry flavours.
Escarpment Martinborough Chardonnay 2023
93 POINTS
Intense chardonnay with vanilla, ripe apple, grapefruit, oyster shell and lemon curd. Good mouth-feel with a lingering finish. Delicious now but with moderate cellaring potential. Flattered by a seasoning of spicy oak.
Escarpment BLANC Pinot Blanc 2023
92 POINTS
Delicately aromatic wine with vanilla, white peach/stone fruit and lime/citrus fruit flavours. Dry and slightly spicy wine with subtle power and appealing purity supported by refreshing acidity that drives a lengthy finish.
Escarpment GRIS Pinot Gris 2023
93 POINTS
Smooth-textured, bright, high-energy wine with green apple and pear flavours. Just a hint of sweetness is nicely balanced by tangy acidity to give the wine some pleasing tension.
