Escarpment Kupe Pinot Noir 2021
97 POINTS
Intense, dense wine with cassis, blueberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, mixed spice and nutty oak flavours. Concentrated wine that is beautifully structured making it accessible now but with obvious potential.
Escarpment Kiwa Pinot Noir 2021
96 POINTS
Intense, ripe, red-fleshed plum, dark cherry/berry, anise and oak spice flavours.
Accessible yet structured pinot noir with obvious cellaring potential. A classic Martinborough wine in form and flavour profile.
Escarpment Pahi Pinot Noir 2021
96 POINTS
Silken-textured pinot noir with dense, compote-like berry/cherry/cassis intensity
that lingers well after the wine has been tasted. Nicely structured with a lingering
finish. Nuanced wine with potential.
Escarpment Te Rehua Pinot Noir 2021
95 POINTS
Intense, spicy pinot noir with a mix of floral/red rose, dark cherry and ripe plum,
supported by a smattering of fresh herbs that give extra energy. Nicely layered with a backbone of peppery tannins.
Escarpment Martinborough Pinot Noir 2021
94 POINTS
Delicately aromatic wine with floral, savoury/dried herb and cherry/berry flavours. The wine has weight and structure giving it obvious complexity and longevity. Aeration is strongly recommended.
Escarpment Martinborough Chardonnay 2022
93 POINTS
Intense, creamy-textured chardonnay with weight, richness and concealed power. Sturdy, complex wine with plenty of energy and supported by assertive acidity. Should age well.
Escarpment BLANC Pinot Blanc 2022
93 POINTS
Crisp, dry and delicately tangy wine with vanilla, citrus/mandarin, stone-fruit and
feijoa. It is an appealing mix of restrained flavours with impressive purity and
refreshing acidity.
Escarpment NOIR Pinot Noir 2022
91 POINTS
Fresh, high energy, entry level wine with bright, herbal and tangy flavours.
Accessible now and probably best enjoyed within a few years.
Escarpment GRIS Pinot Gris 2022
92 POINTS
Mellow, fruity pinot gris in an off-dry style with ripe pear, apple, white peach and
nectarine flavours with a suggestion of anise. Deliciously drinkable wine from a
challenging vintage. A triumph of winemaking.
