Escarpment Kupe Pinot Noir 2020

95 Points

A stunning wine, opening up with fleshy black cherry, pomegranate and blood orange flavors that show perfumed details of green cardamom seed and dried violet. The tannins are dense, but also thick and velvety, giving plenty of traction to the long, expressive finish, where notes of malty Assam black tea and forest floor linger. Drink now through 2032. 300 cases made, 120 cases imported.  –MW

Escarpment Te Rehua Pinot Noir 2020

93 Points

Robust and settled into its muscular, dense frame, this offers abundant red and blue fruit flavors, with toasted herbs, rose petal, fresh tobacco and loamy earth. All of the details fit together wonderfully, with strong-brewed Earl Grey notes on the finish. Drink now through 2030. 250 cases made, 75 cases imported.  –MW

Escarpment Martinborough Pinot Noir 2020

92 Points

Juicy and vibrant, with a firm structure adding a muscular edge to the core of black cherry, wild blackberry and blueberry flavors. Delivers details of dried lavender, black pepper and Earl Grey that add a complex, aromatic note on the long, expressive finish. Drink now. 2,000 cases made, 400 cases imported.  –MW

Escarpment Martinborough Chardonnay 2020

89 Points

This has good intensity to the butterscotch-laced apple, pear and peach flavors at the core, with a supple frame and orange blossom notes on the juicy finish. Drink now. 650 cases made, 100 cases imported.  –MW
