Earlier this month we bottled our single vineyard Pinot Noirs; Pahi, Kiwa, Te Rehua and Kupe from the outstanding 2013 vintage. The 2013 vintage has given us wines with great ripeness, structure and complexity.
These wines were all hand harvested in March/April last year in brilliant condition. They were all fermented in open top wooden cuves with indigenous yeasts for a period of 16-20 days. Thewere then gently pressed and racked to barrel after an overnight settling in tank. They were aged for 18 months in barrel with 40% new for the town vineyards and 50% new for Kupe. They have all been bottled without fining or filtration.
We have already shown them to Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW and she was very positive about them and there potential, her reviews will be featured in Issue 216 of “The Wine Advcoate” and eRobertParker.com – to be published at the end of December 2014.
